Many DIY personal care products with essential oils include fruity or floral scents that work well for women, but some men simply don’t care for it.
But there’s an easy fix for that. Just swap out the floral and feminine scents for manly scents. There are a number of essential oils with rustic, woodsy and masculine scents.
6 DIY Personal Care Products for Men with Essential Oils
Make a DIY deodorant solid with essential oils to naturally neutralize odors.
2. Lotion Bars
Men who prefer using bar soap for cleaning might like lotion bars. Similar to a creamy lotion, a lotion bar provides moisture but in a bar form. It’s convenient for travel or those on the go. Try this lotion bar recipe with a few drops of Peppermint or Spruce essential oils.
Mix Peppermint into a homemade toothpaste recipe, which usually includes coconut oil and baking soda. If you don’t have a base toothpaste recipe, try this easy-to-make recipe that’s also kid friendly. The addition of Peppermint makes it much more palatable.
4. Sugar or Salt Scrub
5. Bath Salts
A detox bath is an excellent way to relax after a long day. Add a cup of Epsom salt to the bath to relieve sore muscles and get a dose of magnesium. Try a blend of three parts Lemongrass and one part Cedarwood with a cup of Epsom salt to a bath.
6. Homemade Shaving Cream
Ditch store-bought shaving cream and make your own moisturizing shaving cream. Add 2 drops of Cedarwood, 2 drops Lavender and 1 drop of Lime to a homemade shaving cream recipe. The Cedarwood is a rustic, manly scent, while the Lavender soothes the skin and Lime provides an uplifting scent.
