Delicious and Quick Paleo Meals
Being on a Paleo diet means it’s not always easy to find quick dinner recipes that abide by the Paleo rules. As you’re not allowed to eat grains or legumes (among other things), most meals tend to rely on meat, an ingredient that often doesn’t lend itself easily to quick and easy cooking. Thanks to the Instant Pot, meat dishes that might have needed hours to cook before now only require a fraction of the time.
Choosing an Instant Pot
And if you’re looking for an Instant Pot, here’s the one that I got. What I love about the Instant Pot is that it’s a 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Cooker – including a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, saute/browning, yogurt maker, steamer and warmer. Plus, it has a stainless steel cooking pot and steam rack – LOVE that! I have literally gotten rid of my old slow cooker and yogurt maker because I can do it all with the Instant Pot.
Top Tips For Gluten Free and Paleo Instant Pot Recipes
- You might think that once you’ve selected a cooking function, that’s that. But you can actually adjust the temperature when using the Saute or Slow Cooker functions. This helps you get the perfect cooking temperature catered specifically to whatever dish you’re making. Some dishes may need a slightly higher temperature, while you may want to turn down the heat on other dishes.
- The Instant Pot takes about 10 minutes to build the necessary pressure within the inner pot. So whenever you’re using the Manual or Pressure button to cook, you’ll want to add about 10 to 15 minutes of cooking time to let the unit sufficiently pressurize.
- Don’t fill your Instant Pot more than 2/3 of the way and make sure you are at or under the half-way mark when cooking items that expand.
- If you’re worried about the different cook times of your food items with the pot-in-pot method, cut the foods that take longer to cook into smaller pieces. You should also place these foods on the bottom, and quicker cooking foods on top for the best use of heat.
