Ready to spring-clean your home? How do you start spring cleaning?? Well, you can do it in less than a day with this easy spring cleaning checklist with details on how to clean room by room. Plus, I’ll share natural cleaning tips and recipes you can use for every room in your home without the harsh chemicals.
It’s time for spring cleaning! It may seem overwhelming to clean your whole home, but with this handy spring cleaning checklist you’ll be able to clean each room in your home without spending the whole weekend doing it. In fact, you’ll be able to do your home in less than a day. This spring cleaning checklist works whether you live in a small apartment or large home. You’ll be able to get each room clean and tidy.
Is Spring Cleaning Necessary?
A good spring cleaning is an opportunity to refresh your home and enable you to enjoy all the benefits of a new, warmer season. Here are a few reasons why spring cleaning is important:
- Breathing – When your home is closed off and insulated during the winter months, dust settles, air becomes stagnant, and your respiratory health suffers. A solid spring cleaning improves the air quality of your home and makes you feel better. With a clean house, your mood will improve and you’ll be open to welcoming visitors.
- Less Mess – Clutter wears you down. When you have stuff taking up space and gathering dust in your home without purpose, it can impact your emotional health as well as your physical well-being. We’re not saying it’s time to purge, but a comprehensive spring cleaning can help lift the veil from the winter doldrums. You’ll find you can concentrate better and feel less stressed. As the saying goes, less is more.
- Trouble Spots – When items in your house or apartment remain in the same place for long periods of time, pockets of dirt and dust build up – so much so that you often won’t even notice the pattern. A thorough spring cleaning digs out all the collected muck and helps you see your home in a new light. Maybe the layout of your family room suddenly seems inefficient and uncomfortable? A spring cleaning can open up new possibilities for your home.
Spring Clean the Bathroom
Start by removing all of the washable materials from the room. This includes your hand towels, bath rug, and shower curtain. Go ahead and throw those in the washing machine to get that load started.
Here are the tasks you should be focusing on in this room:
- Wash the floors/vacuum the floors (if it’s really dirty, you may need to sweep first).
- Wipe down the windows and mirrors.
- Scrub your toilet (including the base of the toilet).
- Deep clean your shower.
- Clean the counters.
- Go through and wipe down your cabinets (if applicable).
- Clean the light fixtures and light switches.
- Wipe down the doorknobs.

It’s a multi-purpose cleaner that’s great for both light cleaning and deep cleaning.
