Wordless Wednesday: Simple Toys, Simple Fun

I love this picture for so many reasons. 1) My boys are actually getting along. 2) My house is relatively clean. 3) My boys aren’t wearing PJs on a Sunday all day. 4) My boys are enjoying a simple toy that requires imagination.

I’m working on a post for later this week about living more simply. I was inspired on our two-month trip to Hawaii earlier this year. It was refreshing to live out of a suitcase with just 3-4 outfits for each of us, and just enough toys to fit in my boys’ backpacks. When we came home I was overwhelmed by all the stuff in our house.

So I’m slowly letting things go and trying to live more simply. And this picture just reminds me that even simple toys can keep kids preoccupied for hours – as mine were all morning on last Sunday.
