Review: Squooshi Reusable Food Pouches

I love the portability and flexibility of using food pouches instead of baby food jars and containers, but I didn’t want to keep using disposable baby food pouches for my 1-year-old son. I’ve searched high and low for reusable food pouches and even tried a few different products – but came up short every time.

Then, I found out about Squooshi from Good Girl Gone Green. I felt like I hit the jackpot. The design is EXACTLY like disposable food pouches, but there’s a plastic zipper (similar to a Ziploc bag) on the bottom that seals food inside the pouch. It’s super easy just to spoon baby food inside the pouch, seal it, and then take it on the go. The cap for the pouch is easy to take off – just like the disposable ones (in fact, I even tried a disposable pouch cap and it fits on the Squooshi).

I tested out the Assorted 4-pack, which included two small (2.5 fl. oz.) and two large (4.5 fl. oz) reusable bags. Since my son is now a year old he can eat, so the large Squooshi works best for us. The designs are adorable, including a lion, bird, walrus and panda.

A handy selection of adorably designed, reusable food pouches, in two handy sizes. For baby food, toddler snacks and kids of all ages. Package includes one small lion, one small bird, one large walrus and one large panda. Sure to make even picky eaters smile. This set is $18.49 and you can choose a selection of packs small, large and assorted from the Squooshi online store.

Other cool features on the Squooshi reusable food pouch:

  • Freezable
  • No-choke cap
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead
Check out the Squooshi website for recipe ideas too – the mango lassi sounds delicious.
Here’s my quick applesauce recipe that I’ve used several times with my Squooshi:
  • Boil 1 green apple and 1 red apple in a pot of water until soft
  • Drain all water, except 2-3 tablespoons
  • Puree remaining water, apples and a dash of cinnamon in a blender
  • Let cool, and then spoon into Squooshi pouches

  3. I need these. Yesterday. Seriously, I have a 1 year old that throws food around the car, but I can get her to eat out of these squeezy packs on the way to daycare…but then I forget to buy more and well…it all goes downhill from there. This is an awesome idea!
