Fall Into Green Giveaway Hop – Seventh Generation

I’m thrilled to be part of the Fall Into Green Giveaway Hop, hosted by Happy Mothering and Happy Green Mama through the Green Moms Network. Enter to win my giveaway for recycled trash bags and paper towels from Seventh Generation, plus you can enter more green and ec0-friendly giveaways from other blogs participating in the giveaway hop or the Grand Prize from Maggie Bags – you’ll find them at the bottom of this post.

Seventh Generation Recycled Large Trash Bags (33-gallon trash bags, 15 per box)

We try to recycle and reuse as much as possible, but there’s always still some trash to throw away. So I really like using recycled trash bags like Seventh Generation. These trash bags are made form 80% recycled plastic and 24% post-consumer recycled plastic. And if every home in the US replaced one package of 20-count trash bags made from virgin plastic with 60% recycled bags, we could save 86,000 barrels of oil – enough to heat and cool nearly 5,000 homes each year. That’s just one small thing you can do to cut down on waste and save natural resources.

Seventh Generation Recycled Paper Towels (6-pack)

I rarely use paper towels these days. I typically opt for reusable, fast-drying kitchen cloths to wipe down the counter tops and dinner table. But once in a while I just need paper towels – like when I’m cleaning the toilets. I know I can use reusable cloths but I’m just not there yet. So when I need to use paper towels (or even toilet paper) – I always choose recycled. And Seventh Generation has 100% recycled paper towels available. They’re actually more absorbent than regular paper towels – plus I love that they’re not bleached with chlorine and have no dyes.

And get this – if every home in the US replaced one 6-pack of virgin paper towels with 100% recycled paper towels, we could save over 2.2 million trees and over 5.7 million cubic feet of landfill space (enough to fill over 8,400 garbage trucks).

Seventh Generation is partnering with Real Simple for the Cleanhouse Challenge – a Facebook application lets uses take a virtual tour of a green, eco-friendly home while getting green cleaning tips (like how to disinfect toys and how to remove stains from a shower curtain) and product coupons from Seventh Generation. If users complete every room of the house, Seventh Generation will donate $10 (up to $15,000) to 350.org, an environmental organization focused on solving the climate crisis. Check out the Seventh Generation Facebook page from now until October 31 to take the Cleanhouse Challenge.
