Wordless Wednesday: First Day of School Pictures #Fail

Every year, I love to take photos of my kids in front of our house on their first day of school. I love looking back on them to see how much they’ve grown.

I usually get my older boys new lunch boxes. But we went the Saturday before school started (which was just 2 days later on a Monday), and of course everything at Target was sold out. We tried two others stores and nothing. So we bought new lunch boxes off Amazon.

Fail #1: We now had no lunch boxes for pictures on the first day of school. Oh well, I’ll just get the kids dressed in super cute outfits and they’ll look adorable without their lunch boxes.

Well, we tried a series of shots and this is the best of what I got.

Fail #2: The forced smile from my oldest son

Fail #3: Ok, stop being so goofy. Let’s take a real photo.

Fail #3: Can you just be serious so I can take a shot? (While I’m making noises to the baby to get his attention to look at the camera.)

Fail #4: My middle son’s expression is priceless: Are these damn photos over yet? And my youngest son is over it and walks away.

Did you take any photos for the first day of school? How did yours turn out?

    • Christine, your pictures are adorable – all action shots. My kids could care less about the camera so it’s hard to get anything posed. It’s times like these I wish I had a girl who loved the camera.

  2. OMG I love these pictures. My most favorite kid pictures are those that I tried to have something posed. These are perfect for bringing out in 20 years!!!

    • Thanks, Stacie. I know I’ll think they’re hilarious later but man I wanted something to frame this year. Bummer. Thanks for visiting.

  3. Our son isn’t in school yet but I too hope to take a yearly first day of school photo. We only have ONE boy – I admire you for raising THREE :) I enjoyed your post.
