National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day

Do you really know what’s being served in your kid’s school lunch? Now you can.

October 17 is National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day – and you can join other parents who will line up at school cafeterias with their kids to learn what’s being served for lunch. Find out how you can get involved with National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day, how you can get your school on board for this family-friendly day and other resources.

And do you have any funny lunch tales to share from your kids or your own childhood? Share them at My Lunch Tales for a chance to win coupons and a grand prize of $2,500 from YoKids and Kiwi Magazine.

Tell me I’m not the only one who used to walk around the school yard eating uncooked ramen – I just crushed it up and added the seasoning packet. It was crunchy, MSG-laden treat. Cringe-worthy now, but I loved it as a kid.

  1. I don’t remember eatting uncooked ramen, but I remember other people doing it.

    • At my elementary school, you were like the most popular kid that day if you had uncooked ramen (we called it “raw saimin”) and shared it with the other kids.

  2. Cute container! Looks like an apple to me.
