The last week has been a complete whirlwind. My husband had to go in for an back surgery unexpectedly due to a fragmented disc in his spine. It was crazy, busy, humbling, and nerve-wracking. The happiest moment was when I saw him right after surgery. He’s doing much better and recovering at home for the next few weeks.
At the same time, we inherited this little guy from a friend. His name (we assume it’s a boy) is Toothless, like in How to Train Your Dragon. He’s a leopard gecko and lives in the same room as my two older boys. They are thrilled to pieces to have a pet – and I love that Toothless is pretty low maintenance. What I’m not loving so much are the live crickets and worms we have to feed him. So I leave it to the boys to handle it.
