Wordless Wednesday: Brothers Fighting and Making Up

This photo warms my heart and drives me nuts at the same time. These two were taking a bath together, which I usually never let them do anymore because they’re just too big… and rambunctious. Well, I should have heeded my own advice. Just a few minutes after they got into the bath together, they started play fighting. And then my 7 year old accidentally punched my 5 year old in the nose.

I was putting away laundry in the next room. Then my younger son ran out of the bathroom and yelled, “Mom! Mom!” I ran over and found my son with blood all over him. His bloody nose had already ran all over his body and onto the carpet. My husband freaked out a little – he has thing about blood and anything messy.

So I immediately tended to my son to stop the blood. We pinched his nose with a tissue and it stopped within a few minutes. I gave him a quick bath to clean up all the blood. And then my oldest son (feeling awful about hurting his brother) came out to clean the blood mess on the carpet.

We got everything cleaned up in 10 minutes, and my younger son was fine. We just put a bit of tissue in his nose to stop the bleeding.

Then these too starting hugging. My oldest son apologized for hurting his brother. My younger son forgave him and said he was fine. They were actually going on and on about how much they loved each other.

They were so sweet. But by this time I was in need of a mojito.
