Growing up, my mom didn’t give me green foods for St. Patrick’s Day. She was from China and didn’t know about the American custom of serving up food with green food dye for St. Patty’s. And thank goodness. If she had known, she’d probably cook some Chinese alternative like green onion pancakes.
Since having kids, I try my best to make holidays fun for the kids. It’s hard though because I’m not naturally domestic like some of the other fabulous mom bloggers out there. But green food? I can definitely do that. I practically eat pesto every week in pasta and sandwiches.
So I went on the search for healthy green recipes to give to kids on St. Patrick’s Day. Save the food dye for your homemade playdough.
